TAKING DOWN HAIR SECTIONS

I twist my hair in fairly large sections each night. What I used to do is twist the sections in the opposite direction and run my finger down the middle of the two sections in order to separate them. What I realized over time is that ANY downward PULLING of my hair WILL result in knots, so I untwist the sections and gently pull them apart to further achieve the afro look that I typically wear, I pull all sections apart with my fingers than shape the overall look with my fingers and gently lift with a comb if I need more fullness. This has been working and I have fewer knots than ever.
One other thing...once I style my hair I try very hard to REFRAIN from touching it as this also helps prevent knots.

Happy styling!
